Glenwood Avenue begins at Morgan Street, one block east of historic Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh. The first five blocks have become
known as "Glenwood South" a downtown nightlife mecca. Further west, it passes Five Points and continues on past Crabtree Valley Mall,
the 540 beltline and Brier Creek, until it changes to Miami Boulevard on the outskirts of Research Triangle Park. That's the way a lot
of people think of Glenwood. But that's not the way Gordon Grubb thinks.
When he purchased what was called "Koger Center" several years ago, he immediately saw the vast possibilities of its proximity:
15 minutes to the airport, 5 minutes to Crabtree Valley, Glenwood South or Cameron Village; and most importantly, within 30 minutes
of over 50% of the population of the Raleigh-Durham SMSA.
In the future, Grubb envisions several office buildings, including 3700 Glenwood, a gourmet restaurant, a boutique hotel and upscale
condominium homes.
So it would seem that the Glenwood Place complex will redefine the concept of "location, location, location".
